Honda S2000 6.5" Door Speaker Adaptor Installation Guide

Step 1: Prepare Tools & Work Area

Gather tools:

  • Phillips
  • screwdriver, trim removal tool, and new 6.5" speakers. Disconnect the battery to avoid shorting circuits.

Step 2: Remove Door Panel

Carefully pry off plastic covers hiding screws using a trim tool. Remove all screws securing the door panel.

Gently pop off the door card by pulling from the bottom and sides.

Step 3: Remove Factory Speaker

Unscrew the OEM speaker and unplug the factory connector. Remove any remaining debris or sealant from the mounting area.

Step 4: Install weather strip

Attach the provided weather strip into the groove on the door panel side. Carefully align the foam tape with the groove. Slowly peel back the adhesive backing while gently pressing the strip into place.

Important: Do not peel off the entire backing at once—secure the strip gradually as you go to ensure proper alignment and adhesion

Step 5: Position the Adaptor Ring

Align the new PETG-CF adaptor ring with the factory speaker mounting holes. Ensure the integrated weather seal faces the metal surface of the door.

Step 6: Secure the Adaptor

Use included or OEM screws to fix the adaptor ring in place. Do not overtighten-firm pressure is sufficient.

Step 7 Mount the Speaker

Connect speaker wiring. Mount the new 6.5" speaker to the adaptor. Hand tight, don’t overtighten the screws. Ensure snug and level placement.

Step 8: Refit the Door Card

Reconnect wiring to the switches and reattach the door card. Snap clips into place and

reinstall screws and covers.

Step 9: Test the System

Reconnect the battery. Power on the audio system and test speaker function.

Tip:

Let the foam seal compress naturally. Avoid overtightening fasteners into PETG-CF to prevent stress fractures. Apply sound deadening beforehand for optimal results.
